Prewired turn-key kits with Bluetooth technology for smart phone viewing of system data are easy to set up, reduce wiring and labor costs, and are an efficient alternative to generators. LED lights are rated up to 100,000 hours and the fixtures have magnetic mounting.

The Sun-In-One LED lighting fixtures for shipping container solar lighting kits provide you enough light to see to get equipment or supplies out of the container all the way up to high quality lighting to all you to use the Shipping Container as a workshop and have enough light to do fine detailed work. The shipping container lighting kits are designed to match you needs based on you uses. Also, if you need 110 or 230 volt AC power in the container we can include our Sun-In-One Shed Kit base unit to include AC and cell phone USB 3.0 cell phone charging. If you do not see a kit that fits your needs we can build custom configurations for you just call us for a quote.

The Power of our kits

Choose from a variety of LED lighting options, ranging from single bulbs, to vapor tight fixtures with tube lights, to LED exterior lighting fixtures with or with out motion sensing.

  • Also, we can provide AC or DC power kits for whatever you need, from heat lamps to ventilation fans and air conditioning.
The solar shipping container lighting kits come pre-wired and ready to install so it can be set up in half the time! This means low installation costs, unlike a grid-tied system that requires expensive trenching and electrical work. Our kits use a Bluetooth-enable MPPT charge controller, giving you maximum efficiency while also allowing you to monitor and control your solar production and battery usage. Simply download the app and connect to the charge controller. We have two options for the solar panel: roof mounted or pole mounted racking, however, we do not provide the pole for pole-mounted systems. This is because you will be able to find a pole at your local hardware store or building supply store for a much lower cost than what we can provide and ship one for. We will provide the specifications for what type and size pole you need.
We can include a USB Charger built into the battery box.
Then we need to know the size of the batteries you will need to charge, and whether you’re charging the batteries in the daytime or nighttime, and how fast you need to recharge those batteries.
We can charge your vehicles through our system, though depending on what you’re needing charged, there are various customizations that can be done through a custom order.

That depends on how bright you want it. Here are some simple guidelines to follow: (1) 20 ft container – 1 to 3 lights. (1) 40 ft container – 1 to 4 lights. (2) 40 ft container – 2 to 8 lights. (3) 40 ft container – 3 to 12 lights. (4) 40 ft container – 4 to 16 lights. (5) 40 ft container – 5 to 20 lights. (6) 40 ft container – 6 to 24 lights We can engineer your solar kit to operate multiple containers at the same time, but those containers will need to be placed right next to each other. If they’re not next to each other, then you will need more than one kit. One of our kits can light up to 6 shipping containers sitting in the general area.
Yes, our Solar Power and LED Lighting Kits can run the lights and provide AC power at 120 volts or 230 volts ranging from 250 watts to 3KW of power. The size of the kit is directly dependent on the usage. If you want to know the size of the kit, it will be based on your load and how many hours a day you are going to run that load. An Example: 250 Watt load for 8 hours a day is 2000 watts per day 500 Watt load for 6 hours a day is 3000 watts per day Your Sun-In-One engineer needs to know what type of equipment you need power for and the specific wattage and voltage of each component so that we can properly design the system to meet your needs.

Best Type of Storage Container Lighting

Shipping containers are 20 FT or 40 FT long and 8-foot-wide narrow spaces with relatively short ceilings. We have designed a sufficient linear LED lighting system with a magnetic mount for the fixture. These 4 FT linear LED fixtures are ideal for this space as they easily lighten up a much larger area with the spread-out light beam reflecting and bouncing off the side walls of the containers.

A good secondary option is to have Solar Kit power LED Flood lights shining into the container. They are mounted on the twist tight lock with magnets to provide external lighting around the Shipping Container.

We also offer vapor-tight and explosion-proof LED container lights and LED Flood lights.

Our Lighting Kits

Shipping containers are not a very large space with a relatively low ceiling height. Therefore, you do not have to overpower the space with powerful lights. We use both 2 FT and 4 FT Vapor Tight light fixtures with 1 or 2 LED light tubes in each fixture.

Why is it important that you know how long you are going to be in the Shipping Container each day?

We customize every solar kit we build to meet the number of hours you generally use the LEDs lights in 1 day or 2 days’ time. The size of the solar panel and the amount of battery storage are both dependent on how much you are going to use the lighting in a single day, the actual location of the installed system, and the historical weather data for that area.

The longer you use the lighting system each day, the more solar power and battery storage will be needed to operate the LEDs. And if you are going to use the system more than four hours per day, you will need to have 3 days of battery storage to support the need for lights for times when there is inclement weather such as cloudy or snowy days.

Can I Have Lights On The Outside Of My Shipping Container Storage Unit?

Sun-In-One can design a system that has lighting on the inside of your shipping Container and Flood Lights mounted to the twist Lock at 1 or up to all 4 corners of the container.

The number of lights and the type of lights are all based on your actual lighting needs inside the container.
  • If you are using the containers just for general storage, without having to read fine print on items, then 1 or 2 fixtures is all you might need.
  • If it’s a larger 40 FT container, then 3 or 4 fixtures might be the solution.

Types of On/Off Light Switches

2 Hour Timer Switch – magnetized box that can be mounted just inside the container, provided for containers with in and out daily or weekly foot traffic, nobody working for long periods of time 6 Hour Timer Switch – magnetized box that can be mounted just inside the container, provided for containers that are used for longer periods of time in one stretch during the day. Light Switch – is available but not recommended because there is no auto shut-off of the lights, and if the lights are left on your battery can be completely drained. Motion Sensor – gives you the auto shut-off, but if you are working in the back of the container your lights can shut off while you are in the container because motion is only detected from limited direction.

LED Wet Location and Hazardous Materials Storage Lighting for Shipping Containers

We provide LED light fixtures that are rated for wet locations – IP65 or better. You should always be aware of your fixture’s IP rating and that it will withstand any moisture issues. If you storage Container where you store products that produce an explosive vapor environment, then you should use explosion-proof lighting fixtures. If the vapors are corrosive but not explosive, then a vapor-tight light fixture should be considered. We have these fixtures available if needed.

Installation Tips

  • Make sure your intended location for the solar panel sees no shade between 9 AM and 3 PM.
  • When installing the panel, make sure it is facing solar south. South on Google Maps is solar south.
